“Why do we pray to Allah when we can’t see him?”
Have you been asked this question or have you heard of this question? Or have you thought of this question? If yes, how do you answer this question? Okay, so here is my answer. May you benefit from this, Insya Allah.
To answer the above question, let me ask you a few things-
1) Say, if I were to pinch you real hard, what do you feel? You feel pain. But why do you say it is pain when you can’t even see pain? (Some might say, after being pinch there would be a red spot and that shows that it is painful, but that is not the pain, that is the result of pinching. You get a red spot).
2) Say, if a wind is to blow past you, what do you feel? You’ll feel cool. But why do you say it is coolness when you can’t even see the coolness nor could you see the wind?
3) Some believe in Darwinism, yah? So to this group of people, why do you believe in Darwinism when you didn’t witness it yourself?
4) Have you ever been in love? Yes? But my question now is why do you say that you are in love when you can’t even see love?
5) You believe that there is heaven and hell. But why do you believe it when you don’t even see it?
6) So you would only believe in things that you could visibly see, with your own eyes, right? So if that is the case, then I’m safe to say that you have no brains, nor do you have a heart, nor do you have soul in your body, nor do you have blood, nor do you veins etc. Because I can’t see them. So only during the period of time when you are under x-ray equipment, you have the above mentioned. Otherwise, you have none.
So now, my answer to the question, “why do we pray to Allah when we can’t see him?” is it is because we feel Him in our hearts. We sense the presence of Him. We feel the greatness of Him by just looking at the things around us. We feel Him close to us.
You can’t see what the heart feels. You can just feel what the heart feels. You only know the physical side of the heart. Some would say, Science would know the answer. If that is your claim, I’m sorry but I have to say, “AS IF!” Science would ONLY answer your ‘how’ questions but science would NEVER answer your ‘why’ questions. If you really claim that science can answer your ‘why’ questions, let me ask you something:
1. Why is the Earth round?
2. Why do plants grow?
3. Why are human beings created?
4. Why isn’t the sea dry?
5. Why are human beings created with two legs?
6. Why are human beings created the way we are?
7. Why do human beings die?
8. Why do the birds fly?
9. Why the camels are suitable to stay in the desert?
10. Why doesn’t the sky fall when it have no pillars?
11. Why the clouds can contain water?
12. Why is the sun round?
13. Why do some people survive a landslide?
14. Why are human beings created with brains? Why not to animal?
15. Why is gravity required to pull us to the ground?
16. Why can’t cats walk on two legs?
17. Why are some human beings created with abnormality?
18. Why is the sky so high?
19. Why does doomsday happen?
20. Why can’t tree walk around?
I would answer the above questions, because God says, “KUN FAYYA KUN!” That means God says, “BE! AND IT IS!” Science is NOTHING without the wonders of God! Science might be able to build robots but can science create another world? NO! IT CAN’T! Can science create colours which none have seen before? NO! IT CAN’T! Therefore, I conclude that SCIENCE ISN’T EVERYTHING!
