When one said that we are not to believe in hadiths, it is already wrong because Al-Quran does teach everything but the hadiths explains it.
For example: -
* The Quran commands all human beings to pray to Allah. But the Quran does not teach how to pray and the way to pray is taught in the hadiths.
* In the Quran doesn’t teach what to say/recite during the different posture in praying. The hadiths did.
* True, the Quran can be a form of medication/cure. But the hadiths is the one, which quotes which ayat to read/recite for different illnesses.
* The Quran teaches about the Perwarisan Harta (The distribution of wealth of the decease) but the Hadiths explains how you go about doing it.
* The Quran tells us to do good to all creations, yes. But the hadiths tells us the reason why we should.
* The Quran tells us the history of the unbelievers and told us to learn from the mistake they did. But the hadiths explains and emphasize it.
* In Quran, doesn’t teach like
- You begin your prayers with Tadbiratul Ihram. Then read the doa iftitah, then followed by al-fatihah then followed by another surah. Then you do the ruku’, then I’tidal dan the prostration and so on and so forth. The Quran doesn’t teach the step by step prayers.
Both the Al-Quran and Hadiths have to go hand-in-hand. It is no point believing in the hadiths ONLY if you don’t believe in the Al-Quran and it is no point believing in the Al-Quran ONLY if you don’t believe in the hadiths. Because like I said, the Al-Quran and Hadiths go hand-in-hand.
I’ve said this many times, if you ONLY believe in the Quran or if you ONLY believe in the hadiths, you are a Murtad. I’ve emphasize the Syahadah many times – I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Let me divide the Syahadah. And explains it step-by-step so that the people would understand.
First part of the Syahadah: I bear witness that there is no God but Allah. Here, people claimed that Allah is the Lord of Creations. But do not be amaze that there are many people who do not believe in the Quran. Here I am not talking about the Unbelievers. They are totally out. I am talking about people who claim themselves as Muslims. But they don’t believe in the Quran. The Quran is the words of Allah. So is Kitabul Taurat, Kitabul Injil and Kitabul Zabur. These are the words of Allah. One of the pillars of faith is to believe in the Holy books/revelations. And when you don’t believe in the Holy books, YOU HAVE FAILED TO RECOGNIZE/UNDERSTAND THE PILLAR OF FAITH! And if you don’t believe in one of the pillars, you are considered a MURTAD (This means you are out of Islam!). To believe in Allah, you have to believe that He is the Creator of all creations, you have to believe in the words He sent down, you have to believe in his Holy Books. That is believing in Allah.
Second part of the Syahadah: And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah. Here many people claim that Muhammad (pbuh)is a Prophet of Allah. Many claim that Muhammad is their hero, their faith, their beliefs and they also claim that Muhammad is the Warrior of Islam – strong and honorable. But what is believing in Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)? Believing in Prophet Muhammad is when one believes in his saying, believes that he was sent by Allah to correct/enlighten the people and believes that he is the seal of all prophets (meaning: he is the last of all prophets). Believing in the Prophets are also one of the Pillar of Faith. If you don’t believe any of his teaching, even if ONLY ONE you don’t believe, it means YOU HAVE FAILED TO RECOGNIZE/UNDERSTAND THE PILLAR OF FAITH! Believe in his saying means that you would trust anything that he said and teaches. That is his Sunnah and Hadiths. If you would be a Murtad (meaning: out of Islam) even if you don’t believe in only one sentence/word of his saying, then if you don’t believe in hadiths at all, what more can I say?
And as far as I was told, the ones that don’t believe in hadiths is the Muhammadiyah.
